There are basically two different types of bean bag chairs that we offer: those filled with traditional Polystyrene "beans" and those filled with shredded memory foam.
Traditional bean bags are very light, offer a little more support than their foam counterparts and are generally less expensive. However, the beans will eventually flatten out over time and you will need to buy additional Polystyrene fill to top them off. With a few exceptions, traditional bean bags do not come with inner liners. This means you will have to spot wash stains because the covers can not (easily) be removed and put in the washing machine. These bean bag chairs are great for children because of their size and portability.
Foam bean bag chairs are generally bigger and heavier. These modern bean bags will flatten out over time as well, but instead of buying more fill, you simply toss them in the air a few times to let the foam expand and it's just like new. All of our foam bean bag chairs either come with liners or let your purchase one as an option. This means that the covers can be removed and put in the washing machine. Since these chairs are so large, the foam is vacuum packed at the factory for shipping and may take a few days to fully expand once setup.
